French-Latvian entrepreneurs at the Embassy of France

On Tuesday, 14th of May, the French Ambassador Stephane Visconti organized an event dedicated to economic diplomacy in the residential premises of the French Embassy in Riga. More than 50 French and Latvian entrepreneurs, executives of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Latvia and French external trade counselors  joined the event.

During the meeting, the Ambassador stressed the excellence of French-Latvian relations and also his will to create a new impulse of bilateral trade to promote economic recovery, of which also spoke Latvian Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis, during his visit to Paris (18th to 20th of April). The Ambassador reminded that France, as publicly acknowledged by President Francois Hollande, supports Latvia’s accession into the Eurozone and OECD and emphasized the attractiveness of the French economy.

Mr. Visconti also expressed satisfaction about the positive work results shown by Ubifrance, which supports French enterprises in the Latvian and Baltic country market research process and called for participation to enhance trade, especially in the organization of the French-Latvian Economy Forum. With special support from Latvian and French Prime Ministers, this event is planned to take place in 2014, in Riga.
